“Shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done” (Psalm 78:3)
World History Course Outline

Class Description

The study of world history should be nothing less than the discovering of how God has worked His sovereign will among mankind. Though the perfect history class given in Heaven is yet to come, believers who understand the ways of God as revealed in His Word and who have the mind of Christ can understand the past as well as the present trends. As Israel’s history was recorded in Scripture as an example from which believers of all ages should presently learn, world history taught from the Biblical perspective teaches us how we should live today.

First Quarter:
Focuses on the Genesis account of creation and the resulting ancient civilizations of the world especially those of Babylon, Persia, Egypt, Greece and Rome

Second Quarter:
Looks at the Medieval world throught the time of the Reformation and exploration

Third Quarter:
Covers men’s search for liberty, the Industrial Revolution, and Colonialism

Fourth Quarter:
Discusses modern philosophies and the resulting world wars as well as God’s working in missions and evangelism.

Please note: Students should procure BJU World History text which is used for the class.
