We are pleased to offer some optional hands-on projects during the morning and afternoon Living History sessions this Fall. Instead of visiting the normal stations, visitors may register for one of the following tracks. Each participant must be 8 years or older, or be accompanied by an adult. There is an $10-15 fee per person to cover the cost of materials. As space is limited, be sure to reserve your spot soon! (See registration information below.)
journal
Leather Journal

Journaling filled a major role in the life of the Colonial citizen. During the afternoon session, participants will get to stamp the outside of their own leather journal and then sew it together with leather lacing. All that will be left to do is to start writing with their new replica pencil!

$10 per person. Offered Thursday morning (9/23) and Friday afternoon (9/24).
(Stamps will be available for use but are the property of Vision Heirs.)
Musket

Have a boy that wants to feel like a real Colonial soldier or long hunter? Now he can make his own musket to take on all his imaginery journeys!

$15 per person. Offered Thursday morning (9/23), Friday morning and afternoon (9/24).
(Staining of wood not included with project.)
placemat
rag doll
Hand-woven Placemat

Meal time just went from normal to special with your own hand-woven placemat! Each participant will use a hand loom to create their own unique design.

$10 per person. Offered Thursday morning (9/23).
(Looms will be for the participants' use but will remain the property of Vision Heirs. To purchase the loom, total cost is $25.)

Rag Doll

Come make what many Colonial girls had for a best friend—a darling little rag doll!

$10 per person. Offered Thursday morning (9/23) and Friday afternoon (9/24).
(Some of the assembly will be done ahead of time.)
